So pretty!.
You are most kind. Even my fiddler, who is a consummate luthier, complimented the little axe. But he knows, and I know too, the instrument is a bit amateurish, as is its maker. I worked all day yesterday and today trying to get the action low and the sound higher with various bridges of different woods and thicknesses. A few minutes ago I put on the last bridge, lowered the nut and this is what will be, I think (I hope!), the last tweak. I’m pretty happy all in all. It plays fairly well, sounds about the best I could have expected. I own a guitar similar in a lot of details, which plays fine and sounds great. Why a yahoo would make one like it, not the least expectation it would be better, is a bit mystifying even to me. I guess I just wanted to tell myself I built that thing, warts and bumps and all. Figure since I play a guitar, why not? Story of my life. Short story at that.
